December is here and the elk are loving this cold weather in southeast Kansas. The hunters are enjoying it too!

The last few days have been very cold here at Wehmeyer Elk. But, the lodge is a good place to warm yourself after a great elk hunt.
Updated www.trophybulls.com website today! It’s still time to elk hunt this winter (January, 2009).
We had a few flurries around Thanksgiving, but Monday we had our first real snow of the winter. 3 or 4 inches was just enough to turn everything white and cover a lot of the grass.
It has also been fairly cold, with highs around 15 to 20 degrees. It will be warming back up soon, but it has made the lodge feel even better to come back into to warm yourself up by the fireplace!
